DG Mobile begins collaborations with the creators of the number one cellular-accessible news site,
"The News," to create "Comedy News Show," a rich-content site for third generation cellular phones.
Third generation mobile phone driving force DG Mobile Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo, Shibuya-ku; CEO: Kazusuke Obi) on January 13, 2005, in collaboration with mobile-news aggregation site "The News" progenitors News Service Center Inc. (Headquarters: Tokyo; CEO: Toshiro Okunishi) is establishing a new official mobile phone site, "Comedy News Show." Both companies, for the sake of production and administration of the official site, are forming the "Comedy News Show productions committee." First targeting 3G cellular phones, the site will be furnishing full-blown animated rich-contents. Following, are the details of both companies annoucement and commitment to the project.
DG Mobile Inc. (CEO: Kazusuke Obi/ Location: Tokyo, Shibuya-ku, Tomigaya 2-43-15) and News Service Center Inc. (CEO: Toshihiro Okunishi/ Location: Tokyo, Chiyoda-ku, Hirakawa-cho 2-3-11) as of January 13th, will be together establishing a new mobile phone entertainment site, to be called "Comedy News Show."
"Comedy News Show" will be designed with comedy as the heart and focus of the contents, with movies and a voice that are sure to make you laugh.
Comedian Moichi Kuwabara will be promoting some of the works in the contents of the site. For 70 years, Mr. Kuwabara has dominated a generation with his "Snakeman Show." That unique humor which he brings forth in the "Snakeman Show," is being considered to be made available to everyone from kids who are beginning to use cellphones, up to the generation now in their 40s who grew up with the "Snakeman Show."
For work on the site, Mr. Kuwabara will have top-rate staff working below him. This will ensure a system that can produce high-quality original content. So far, the content-work for cellular phones hasn't commonly been "second-rate content." From the start, work on cellular sites has been in the vein of being able to distribute original contents. In order to continue works that produce original, rich contents, an unique "works-committee system" has been adopted. To make fund provisioning simple in each planning undertaking, each undertaking's useful contents are applied in subsequent distributions.
While "Comedy News Show" will first be available for EZWeb(KDDI), there are plans to expand to NTTDoCoMo's imode system within two months. The usage fee is a monthly 315yen(tax included). In the first year, projected monthy subscriptions are targeted to be 80,000 people and target sales aim for 300,000,000 yen. Future prospects are planned to reach around 300,000 monthly subscribers, and 1,000,000,000 yen in total sales.
There are also inside-plans for a DVD marketing project of the site's contents, which can be distributed through broadband. Furthermore, there are also hints of a planned exhibition connected to these events. These plans are in line with a large movement stemming from the new media that cellular phones are making available.

The circumstances for Comedy News Show's current expasion:
① 3rd generation cellphones are beginning to spread and cellular phones functionality has becoming robust.
② Functionality has become robust, however, contents are still second-rate and contents which are overflowing with creativity and originality have yet to be found.
③ We are aware that currently, while for youth there are many sites featuring actors and actresses, refined and genuine comedy sites do not exist.
Recognizing this, DG-Mobile and News Service Center, in cooperation, in the autumn of '04, have established the "Comedy News Show works-committe" with the intention of offering cellular-contents around which, "funny" revolves. The laugh-out-loud funny Moichi Kuwabara's Club King Inc.
